Emergency Activity
Following the events of October 7 and the ensuing crisis, individuals, communities, foundations, and organizations have rallied together to bolster Israel's resilience and provide support to vulnerable populations. The Shashua Family Foundation swiftly mobilized to address the needs of those affected by the conflict through three primary avenues: emergency relief for small businesses, establishment of Early Childhood rehabilitation program, and assistance to organizations engaged in emergency response efforts.
Small Businesses in Emergency
Amidst these challenging times, The Social Solidarity Foundation continues to stand by business owners across Israel, especially those near conflict zones in the south and north. Our dedicated team, accustomed to maintaining close ties with hundreds of small businesses under normal circumstances, has established a special center to provide support, information, and emergency aid to enhance resilience.
Aid grants
In collaboration with Joint Tevet and the Azrieli Foundation
The House for Social Solidarity has provided approximately 330 small businesses with emergency financial assistance grants totaling three million shekels, ensuring an optimal, comprehensive, and flexible solution directly reaching business owners.
Reshet
Responding to the concerns raised by small business owners affected by the conflict, the WeR1 community initiated the Reshet project – Purchase, Sharing, Contribution. Under this initiative, The Social Solidarity Foundation procures goods from businesses, facilitates their transportation, and directly donates them to various associations and populations in need.
In light of the escalating crisis, this response has been expanded to include businesses from northern regions of the country as well as businesses operated by reservists.
Leading a Round Table for Small Businesses
Amidst the outbreak of the conflict, The Social Solidarity Foundation swiftly leveraged its expertise by convening a roundtable discussion in collaboration with various organizations in the sector. The objective was to deliver a prompt and targeted response to the prevailing uncertainty and information gaps. In partnership with Joint, Ogen, Otef LaEsek, SFI, Atid Initiatives, Koret Foundation, and SparkIL, Magen LaEsek (Business Shield) was established.
Magen LaEsek operates a comprehensive portal offering various forms of assistance aimed at aiding businesses in their recovery and continuity efforts. The portal includes information on grants, exemptions, debt relief, compensation, loans, emergency directives, and more.
